Kombo connects to Emply People with an API key that you create inside Emply People. The key controls which data Kombo can read, so it needs the right permission areas enabled before the connection will succeed.
Before you start
You need administrator access to your Emply People account. Creating and editing API keys is an admin-only action.
Step 1 - Create the API key
- Log in to your Emply People account as an administrator.
- Navigate to the Settings tab from the sidebar.
- Click on Integrations -> API
- Choose the v2 option to create the API key; v1 won't work for our integration.
- After selecting the API v2 tab, check the required permission boxes as listed in your connection flow.
The list of permissions here is only an example. Please check your own permissions in the connection flow.
- Click Save and copy the API key
Step 2 - Connect in Kombo
- Paste the API key into the API key field and click Set up integration
Kombo immediately tests each permission area against your key. If one is missing, it tells you which area failed; go back to Settings → Integrations → API in Emply People, enable it on the key, and try again. You don't need to create a new key.
