Prerequisites
A Paycor Perform HR/Payroll/Company admin account is required to authenticate the connection.
Create a Developer Portal Account
Note: This step is not required for all customers and might be skipped automatically. The step in the connection flow will look like this if it is required:
If the step is displayed and you already have a Developer Portal Account: scroll down in the connection flow and press continue. Then go ahead with the "Build Application" step after logging into the developer portal.
- Enter the following URL into a browser: developers.paycor.com (developers-sandbox.paycor.com if you are connecting a sandbox)
- Click Sign Up on the home screen for existing Paycor Clients.
- Click Get Started
- Enter your Username and Password.
- Click Sign In.
- Select whom you would like to be, Admin of the Developer Portal Account.
- Click Request Access and your account will be created, and an email will be sent to the User designated as the Admin.
Build Application
Note: This step is not required for all customers and might be skipped automatically.
- Click Applications on the home screen to get started
- Click the + Application to create a new application (name the application).
- For Application Type choose Standard Application
- Then click Create Application.
- Copy & Save the Application OAuth Client ID and Application OAuth Client Secret:
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret in the connection flow and click continue:
Configure the Approved Return OAuth URL
Note: This step is not required for all customers and might be skipped automatically.
- Navigate to the Security Connections tab
- Under Approved Return OAuth URL click on + Add another URL
- Enter the personalized redirect URL from the connection flow:
- Press the blue Save button in the bottom right corner.
- Scroll up and there should be a green banner saying Your changes are saved.
- Copy the APIm Subscription Key from the same (Security Connections) tab and paste it in the connection flow.
- Click continue in the connection flow.
Configure Data Access of the Application
Note: This step is not required for all customers and might be skipped automatically.
- Navigate to the Data Access tab.
- The connection flow will display a personalized list of Access Scopes you need to enable. The screenshot below here is just an example:
- Click the blue Save button in the bottom right corner.
- There should be a green banner saying Your changes are saved.
- After configuring the scopes in the Data Access tab, you can find the scope name on the General tab.
- Copy the Scope Name
- Paste the Scope Name into the connection flow and click continue:
Authenticate your Paycor instance
- Click on the Sign in with Paycor button and grant access to the relevant legal entities (and ATS accounts if applicable)
- After finishing the oAuth in the separate window you will be greeting with this success screen:
- Navigate to the Security Connections tab
