Prerequisites

Before getting started, please carefully read the following to make sure you fulfil all requirements for the integration to work:

In order to set up the integration with Personio, you must at least have "access rights" to the following roles:

• Account configuration > API (to create the API key)
• Account configuration > Marketplace Integration (to view the credentials of the created API key)

To make sure your account has access to these roles, please follow these steps:

1. Click on the Marketplace button in the sidebar (if you can not see this button, you are missing permissions)
   
2. Ensure that you can click on See connected integrations
3. Ensure that you can click on Create custom integration

If you can not follow these steps, you will not be able to set up this integration. Please ask a system administrator to assign these "access rights" to your account. You can read more about "access rights" here.

Find your API domain

Your API domain is the same domain that you use to login to Personio

Open your Personio login page, you should be able to view your domain here.

Ensure XML feed is enabled

1. Log into your Personio account.
2. Open the settings by clicking the gear icon on the bottom left corner of the page.
   
   
3. From the settings page select “Recruiting” from the “Recruiting” section:
   
   
   
4. Click on the "Career page" tab on the navigation bar:
   
   
   
5. Make sure the "Enable XML feed" setting is toggled on:
   

Generate your Recruiting API credentials

1. Log into your Personio account.
2. Open the settings by clicking the gear icon on the bottom left corner of the page.
   
3. From the settings page select “API Credentials” from the “Integrations” section
   
4. Personio provides system-generated credentials for ATS APIs, we don’t need to generate new credentials. So, in the “API credentials” page the credentials should already be listed in the bottom as “Recruiting API key”.
   
5. Click on the “Recruiting API key” row, a popup will appear on the page with the credential details.
   
6. Copy the “Company ID” and “Access token” and paste it in the connection flow. Click on “Set up integration and you’re good to go.
   

Recruiting API Channel

1. Open the settings by clicking the gear icon on the bottom left corner of the page.
   
2. From the settings page select “Recruiting” from the “Recruiting” section
   
3. Next, under the dropdown on the right, select "Channels":
   
4. Next, click on "Add a new channel"
   
   
   
   
   
5. Next, copy the value from the connection flow for the "Name of external channel" and set the pricing type as "None". Finally, press "Save & Close"
   
   
   
6. Go to the created channel, and copy the number underneath "Recruiting API channel ID":
   
   
   
7. Finally, copy the above value into the connection flow, and press "Setup integration":
   

Generate your Personio API credentials

1. Open the "API credential" page. You can follow the link in the connection guide or use the following link with your own subdomain:
   https://<your subdomain>.personio.de/configuration/marketplace/connected
   
   
   

2. Click on "Create custom integration" on the marketplace page:
   
   
   

3. Copy the name of the from the connection flow, and past into Personio:
   
   
   
   
4. Please enable the acess right in Personio based on the information provided but the connection flow, and click on "Create integration":
   
   
5. Copy the "client ID" and "API Secret" from Personio, and paste them into the connection flow, and click on "Set up integration" in the connection flow:
